Radiometer’s AQT90 Flex wins praise from Whitechapel hospital
Radiometer has won praise from a UK hospital for the role played by its AQT90 Flex in managing pregnancy-related health conditions at the site.
The company's analytical instrument has been employed in the emergency gynaecology unit at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel to provide rapid point-of-care assessment of early pregnancy issues.
It has been credited with greatly speeding up processes, allowing serum beta-hCG analysis of blood samples to be completed in 20 minutes, rather than the two to three hours it would otherwise have taken.
According to staff from the hospital, this makes it easier to reach decisions regarding treatment methods and reduces the anxiety experienced by patients.
Parvesh Mohan, senior nurse practitioner at the Whitechapel facility, said: "The AQT90 Flex is a robust, closed system that is very easy to use. It provides the fast, reliable results that we require and is a real asset to the emergency gynaecology unit."
The AQT90 Flex is also designed for the analysis of cardiac, coagulation and infection markers and can be used to conduct up to 30 tests per hour.
