B Braun experiences growth during 2010 fiscal year
B Braun has published its financial results for the 2010 fiscal year, reporting a 9.8 percent increase in sales year-on-year.
The medical device manufacturer generated 4.43 billion euros (3.85 billion pounds) in sales during the 12 months, with its Hospital Care and Aesculap divisions representing the largest contributors to growth.
Over the course of the year, the company was able to expand its workforce and increase its spending on research and development, while also bolstering its worldwide production capacity.
This process has continued into 2011, with the firm announcing last month that it is investing 50 million into expanding its manufacturing and logistics facilities in Glandorf, Germany.
B Braun's management board chairman Professor Dr Ludwig Georg Braun said: "We anticipate group sales will increase by six percent in fiscal year 2011. We are well-equipped to cope with increasing demand thanks to our expanded capacities."
Professor Braun will be succeeded in his role by Dr Heinz-Walter Grosse at the beginning of next month.
