Dr Reddy’s opens expanded UK research centre in Cambridge

12th April 2011

Dr Reddy's Laboratories has announced the opening of its newly-expanded UK research and development centre in Cambridge Science Park.

The company's Chirotech Technology Centre has been augmented with funding from East of England Investor Development and now occupies a purpose-built 33,000 sq ft facility with chemistry, biology and analytics capabilities.

Thanks to the opening of the new site, the firm will be able to improve its offerings and services in areas such as biocatalysis and chemocatalysis, while developing its expertise in new areas of chemistry relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

It will also allow Dr Reddy's to double its scientific workforce at the facility, while providing capacity for further additions in future.

GV Prasad, vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Dr Reddy's, said: "The facility will be a centre of excellence for chemistry and reinforces our commitment to building a leading-edge research organisation to meet the innovation needs of our customers."

According to data from the firm's most recent financial report, Dr Reddy's saw a ten percent year-on-year revenue increase during the three months ending on December 31st 2010.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800497054-ADNFCR
