Takeda Cambridge agrees extended partnership with Dimerix Bioscience
Takeda's UK-based subsidiary in Cambridge is to extend its research partnership with Dimerix Bioscience to encompass a second programme.
The new agreement will see Dimerix use its proprietary G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) heteromer identification technology platform to isolate new heterometers with potential applications in drug development.
It can be applied at various stages of the developmental process and can be used in the screening of compounds for toxicity and side effects, as well as the discovery of new indications.
This new programme will run parallel with the existing collaborative work being conducted by the companies since April 15th 2010.
Mark Carlton, president of Takeda Cambridge, said: "We are impressed by Dimerix's achievements over the last 12 months and with the depth of information we have obtained by accessing the power of their GPCR-HIT platform."
Earlier this week, Takeda agreed a new alliance with Asian healthcare firm Samyang that will focus on delivering advances in the field of RNAi therapeutics.
