KCI has announced the promotion of John Bibb to the role of general counsel after eight years in the associate general counsel role.
Mr Bibb has been appointed as the successor to Stephen Seidel and will be acting as KCI's chief legal officer, as well as joining the company's executive committee.
He has been given more responsibilities with the firm – including issues such as acquisitions, corporate finance and commercial operations – since his predecessor Mr Seidel took on the additional role of global president for KCI's therapeutic support systems business in 2009.
Cathy Burzik, KCI's president and chief executive officer, said it was a positive development that the promotion has been made from within the organisation.
"John's skills and leadership will be so valuable to both our company and our culture as we continue to launch new innovations, diversify our business portfolio and expand globally," she said.
Last month, the company pledged a contribution of funding to support relief efforts in Japan following the major earthquake on March 11th 2011.
