Bard reports satisfaction with first quarter growth
Bard has stated its satisfaction with its growth performance in the first quarter of the new financial year.
During the three months ending on March 31st 2011, the medical device manufacturer generated worldwide net sales of $700.3 million (425.13 million pounds), representing a year-on-year increase of eight percent.
This growth was reflected in both its US and international sales figures, while its net income and earnings per share totals also advanced compared to last year.
Timothy Ring, chairman and chief executive officer of Bard, said this occurred despite the company observing no measurable improvement in hospital volumes and procedures.
He added: "This success demonstrates the effectiveness of our product leadership strategy and the ability of our organisation to execute."
Bard has been in business for more than 100 years and currently employs more than 11,000 members of staff, with operations covering areas such as vascular disease, urology and oncology, as well as surgical specialties.
