Cook Medical launches new Liberator locking stylet
Cook Medical has announced the launch of a new Liberator locking stylet for use in lead extraction procedures.
The new device is now available worldwide and provides improved internal support to cardiac leads that have been designated for removal.
It utilises Beacon Tip Technology to track the location of the stylet as it is being positioned, allowing it to be placed as close to the lead's distal tip as possible so that lead control is maintained.
As with previous versions of the Liberator stylet, it also incorporates a locking system and a twisted wire handle, while the overall look and functionality of the unit are unchanged by the new additions.
Lou Goode, global leader of Cook's lead management business unit, said: "This change reaffirms Cook's commitment to responding to physician needs and providing quality tools for lead extraction procedures."
Last month, the company mourned the death of William Alfred Cook, its founder and chief executive officer, who passed away from congestive heart failure at the age of 80 on April 15th.
