Align Technology approves Cadent/Invisalign interoperability

16th May 2011

Align Technology has announced that its Invisalign dental treatment system can now be used in conjunction with Cadent's orthodontic full arch scanning processes.

As of this week, users of the company's flagship alignment system can utilise the OrthoCAD iOC system from Cadent, allowing 3D digital scans of teeth to be used in place of physical impressions.

Functionality will be offered with the latest software version – iOC 4.0 – and will make it quicker, easier and more accurate for professionals to take dental impressions for use in treatment.

Align states that it is also conducting beta tests for Invisalign interoperability with Cadent's iTero 4.0 scanning software, with this functionality set to be introduced in summer 2011.

Sheila Tan, Align Technology's chief marketing officer, said: "We are excited to provide customers with the option to submit digital scans for Invisalign treatment."

This comes after Align completed the acquisition of Cadent at the beginning of this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800534869-ADNFCR
