PerkinElmer launches new ICP-OES spectrometer platform

23rd May 2011

PerkinElmer has announced the launch of a new range of inductively-coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers (ICP-OES).

The Optima 8×00 ICP-OES devices have been optimised to provide sensitive and rapid analysis of the composition of multiple sample types, while also offering a reduced operating cost and greater ease of use.

Among the key features of the products is their radio frequency generator technology that reduces argon consumption, as well as the sensitive and stable eNeb sample introduction system.

They also include PlasmaCam viewing cameras to provide remote diagnostic capabilities and simplify method development.

Dusty Tenney, president of analytical sciences and laboratory services at PerkinElmer, said: "Whether the challenge is identifying and quantifying environmental contaminants or determining the quality of pharmaceuticals and nutraceutical supplements, the new Optima 8×00 series is an ideal solution for today's laboratories."

Earlier this month, the company announced the acquisition of Labtronics, a move that will allow it to expand its offering of electronic laboratory notebook solutions.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800553179-ADNFCR
