Ivoclar Vivadent launches nano-hybrid composite for dental restorations
Ivoclar Vivadent has introduced a new light-curing flowable nano-hybrid composite for use in dental restoration work.
IPS Empress Direct Flow is designed for restorations in the anterior region and has been optimised to provide highly esthetic results similar to a ceramic, while retaining the convenience of a composite.
Its qualities include polishability, optimal surface affinity and enhanced consistency, making it easier for dentists to sculpt and contour the material using a brush or spatula.
The new composite is being made available in three different effect shades – Bleach XL, Opalescent and Trans 30 – and will strengthen the IPS Empress System offering, which has been used to conduct more than 40 million restorations to date.
"For over 20 years, the IPS Empress System has been associated with the best in convenience, reliability and esthetics," the company stated.
According to its last financial statement, Ivoclar Vivadent saw a 9.5 percent increase in total trade sales in 2010, with all-ceramics ranking as its key growth driver.
