Biohit launches precise new electronic pipette

Biohit has announced the launch of an electronic pipette that is designed to improve speed and precision, while minimising contamination risk.

The new eLINE pipette will be available worldwide on June 27th 2011 and is intended for use among molecular biology laboratories handling small liquid samples of between 0.1 and five microlitres.

It incorporates patented technology to dispense liquid from the tip rapidly, meaning the vessel can be completely emptied without leaving any drops.

This ensures that liquid-handling procedures can be conducted quickly, exactly and with no risk of samples becoming cross-contaminated.

Biohit states that the new eLINE product will complement its strong existing offering of single-channel pipettes, with 90 percent of its 2010 net sales coming from pipettes and related products.

According to the firm's most recent financial report last month, further profitable growth is expected for Biohit this year thanks in part to its efforts to reduce expenses and unnecessary waste.
