B Braun launches NuTRIflex Omega fish oil bag

B Braun has announced the launch of NuTRIflex Omega, a new three-chamber fish oil bag for use in the treatment of hospitalised patients at risk of malnutrition.

The product, which was introduced at the International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine earlier this year, provides essential nutrients such as omega-3 and omega-6, amino acids, glucose and electrolytes.

It is designed to offer convenience and safety benefits, with its unique chamber configuration and large diameter port system allowing for simple activation and practical sequence mixing technique.

NuTRIflex Omega will be made available in a number of different bag sizes to meet the individual needs of a wide range of patients, while offering physicians more flexible options.

It has already been introduced in several European countries and will be rolled out gradually over the course of the year, with B Braun ultimately planning to make it available in more than 60 nations.

Last week, B Braun was ranked as one of the top ten employers in the sector for 2011 by Medical Device and Diagnostic Industry magazine.
