Dechra hosts Horses help Heroes charity event

Dechra Veterinary Products has been able to support the charity organisation Horses help Heroes by hosting a special charity event last month.

On June 23rd 2011, the company's Shrewsbury office played host to the Party at the Pavilions gathering, with employees giving over their time to help plan proceedings and personally man the stalls.

Incorporating carnival-style attractions for a family audience, the event was able to generate 2,254 pounds for the charity, which is planning an endurance challenge in which a horse-drawn World War I-era ambulance will be driven from Land's End to John O'Groats.

The money will be given to the philanthropic organisation Help for Heroes to aid wounded servicemen and women.

Dechra Veterinary Products' managing director Bob Parmenter said: "It was delightful to see how the Dechra team worked together to create a thoroughly enjoyable event for such a worthy cause."

Last month, the company offered a contribution of equipment to assist in the operation of an International Training Centre run by the Worldwide Veterinary Service in India.
