Reckitt Benckiser appoints global healthcare SVP

Reckitt Benckiser has named Camillo Pane as the new senior vice-president (SVP) of its global healthcare operations.

Mr Pane, the current general manager of the firm's UK operations, is being promoted to help stimulate the expansion of the business and will be responsible for leading brands such as Nurofen, Strepsils and Gaviscon.

His role will be primarily oriented around driving innovation, equity and growth.

Following Mr Pane's promotion, his former role in charge of Reckitt Benckiser UK will be taken over by Alan Thompson, who is currently general manager of its Canadian business.

He is relocating to Britain this month, with Mr Pane set to continue working with the UK branch until this transition is complete.

Earlier this year, Reckitt Benckiser chief executive officer Bart Becht announced that he will be retiring in September 2011 after a 16-year tenure, with his replacement having been confirmed as current executive vice-president for global category development Rakesh Kapoor.
