Norgine names new global marketing director

Norgine has announced the appointment of pharmaceutical industry veteran Adam Aspinall as its new global marketing director.

Mr Aspinall joins the company following a 22-year career in the industry, during which he has worked with leading companies such as Amgen, where he served as international marketing manager for nephrology.

He joined the industry as a trainee at Abbott Laboratories and has a bachelor's degree in biophysical science, while he will be completing an MBA at Durham University later in 2011.

Ken Scrimgeour, Norgine's chief commercial officer, expressed confidence that he will make a "huge contribution" to the business.

Mr Aspinall added: "Norgine, as a leading European specialty pharma company, is currently in a fascinating phase of growth and I look forward to contributing to this transition."

Last month, the firm announced the launch of Movicol Liquid, a new formulation of its Movicol treatment for chronic constipation.
