Elsevier announces new funding tool for SciVal Experts

Elsevier is introducing a new tool for its expertise management solution SciVal Experts, which will make it easier for life science professionals to gain access to funding.

The new utility automatically links researcher profiles to opportunities within SciVal Funding, Elsevier's funding intelligence solution, allowing expertise to be matched with grants automatically.

Utilising the Elsevier Fingerprint Engine, the tool can provide suggestions to help select potential collaborators for awards and can also be used to offer targeted recommendations for funding opportunities.

Jay Katzen, managing director of Elsevier Academic and Government Markets, said that by automating this process, scientists will be able to dedicate more time and energy to their research.

"Institutions that are able to swiftly identify individual researcher expertise are better poised to navigate a competitive research landscape," he said.

The company made the SciVal Funding application available to researchers in the UK and Europe for the first time last month.
