Colgate Oral Health Month 2011 to take place in September
Colgate-Palmolive is to hold its annual Colgate Oral Health Month campaign once again in September this year, it has been confirmed.
The initiative will see the dental supplier allying with industry professionals and organisations such as the British Dental Association to raise awareness of issues affecting oral health, reports Dentistry.co.uk.
This year, the theme will be the need for a good oral care regime to maintain a healthy mouth, with practice packs to be distributed containing educational materials, patient samples and stickers to drive home this message.
Meanwhile, the verifiable continuous professional development programme taking place this year will focus on the concept of patient perceptions and understanding of prevention issues.
According to survey data from the company, 90 percent of participants in 2010's scheme rated the Colgate Oral Health Month initiative to be very good or quite good.
Last year's theme was the importance of regular brushing and dentist visits, as well as avoiding sugary snacks, in maintaining a healthy mouth.
