Kimberly-Clark records best ever second-quarter sales

28th July 2011

Kimberly-Clark has experienced its best second-quarter sales performance ever during the three months ending on June 30th 2011.

The firm's sales total for the quarter stood at $5.3 billion (3.2 billion pounds), an eight percent increase compared to Q2 2010, which was in line with its full-year plan and targeted growth initiatives.

Growth was reflected across its personal care, healthcare, consumer tissue and K-C Professional divisions, bringing its year-to-date sales total up to $10.3 billion – a six percent year-over-year increase.

Kimberly-Clark chairman and chief executive officer Thomas Falk noted that the company is gaining market share and is expanding its brands with new product launches.

"We also continue to deliver significant ongoing cost savings and generate strong cash flow," he added.

Last month, the firm announced an expansion of its participation in the World Wildlife Fund's Global Forest and Trade Network initiative, which will guarantee its responsible sourcing of wood fibres.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800637436-ADNFCR
