Burson-Marsteller makes new healthcare appointment

Burson-Marsteller has appointed Richard Anderson as the firm's new managing director for healthcare in the EMEA region.

Mr Anderson will be based at the global PR firm's London office from September 1st and will head up the EMEA healthcare division alongside practice leader Toula Stoffel.

The new recruit is a former managing director of Bell Pottinger Health and has been working as an independent consultant providing senior level PR advice since 2010.

He has founded several healthcare communications companies and sold one of his firms, De Facto Communications, to Bell Pottinger in 2005.

Mr Anderson's appointment was welcomed by Jeremy Galbraith, chief executive of Burson-Marsteller EMEA, who commented: "Richard brings proven PR and broader communications expertise, and I am confident that these skills combined with Toula's scientific and marketing background will have a major impact."

Last month, Burson-Marsteller announced the appointment of Esther Lee as the company's latest chief marketing and new business officer.
