CareFusion highlights strong performance in fiscal year 2011
CareFusion has expressed satisfaction with its financial performance in its recently concluded 2011 fiscal year.
In the 12 months ending on June 30th 2011, the company saw a two percent year-on-year increase in revenue to $3.53 billion (2.2 billion pounds), driven primarily by the growth of its main critical care technologies division.
Specifically, the firm's infusion, dispensing and infection prevention units were responsible for helping to deliver double-digit earnings performance improvements, as well as new spending control policies.
The company has also expanded its business scope through the purchase of pharmacy automation innovator Rowa.
This $150 million takeover was formally finalised at the beginning of this month and will help CareFusion to reach a wider array of hospital clients, while maintaining its focus on retail pharmacy customers.
Kieran Gallahue, chairman and chief executive officer of CareFusion, said: "We continue to make progress in optimising our product portfolio and expanding our geographical footprint."
