Agilent reports double-digit growth in third quarter

Agilent Technologies has announced its financial results for the third quarter of its 2011 fiscal year, during which the company generated revenues of $1.69 billion (1.02 billion pounds).

This represented a year-on-year increase of 22 percent, with double-digit growth reflected across all of its major business units and high demand recorded for central product platforms.

In the life science market, Agilent's revenue rose by 21 percent and orders by 14 percent, led by the strong performance of its pharmaceutical and biotechnology offerings.

Revenues for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year are now expected to come to between $1.74 and $1.76 billion.

Bill Sullivan, Agilent's president and chief executive officer, said: "We had another quarter of very good results. Demand for Agilent products remained strong, with key product platforms experiencing solid growth."

Earlier this month, the company announced that Expression Analysis has become a certified service provider for its successful SureSelect product platform.
