Sirona launches Cerec SW 4.0 dental software
Sirona has announced the launch of a new software program for use in automated dental restoration creation.
The new Cerec SW 4.0 is a fourth-generation version of the company's computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing offering, which includes new features aimed at improving usability.
Among them is an intuitive user interface system with new icon layouts and images, making it easier to learn to use, while patient-specific occlusal surfaces can be created automatically and then manually adjusted.
The new software also allows users to create several different restorations during a single treatment session, thus improving efficiency.
According to the manufacturer, Cerec SW 4.0 offers a "sharp focus on essentials, attractive and modern design, plus the streamlined production of clinically and aesthetically perfect dental restoration".
Earlier this month, the company published its financial report for the third quarter of 2011, during which it saw a 34.1 percent year-on-year revenue rise.
