Sanofi Pasteur MSD appoints new UK medical director
Sanofi Pasteur MSD has announced the appointment of Dr Aidrian Kilcoyne as its new UK medical director.
The Trinity College, Dublin graduate joins the company from Roche Pharmaceuticals Ireland and holds qualifications with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Warwick Business School, reports InPharm.
During his time with Roche, he took charge of a team responsible for issues such as medical affairs, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, medical information and clinical research.
Prior to this, Dr Kilcoyne was employed by fellow healthcare company Baxter Healthcare, while he has also held positions at Lilly.
Earlier this year, Sanofi Pasteur was granted prequalification from the World Health Organization for its polysaccharide typhoid vaccine product Typhim Vi.
It is the first therapy of its kind to be granted this status, meaning that a larger number of developing nations that are affected by the disease will be able to gain access to the treatment.
