DJO Global sees double-digit growth in second quarter
DJO Global has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2011, during which it experienced a year-on-year sales increase of 14.5 percent.
The medical technology firm's sales total for the period came to $277.8 million (167.4 million pounds), which includes revenues from recently acquired organisations such as Elastic Therapy, Circle City Medical and Dr Comfort.
DJO has credited these acquisitions with expanding its product portfolio and sales channel reach, which has been of particular benefit to its bracing and vascular segment, resulting in a 29 percent growth rate for this unit.
An improved performance was also seen in its recovery sciences, surgical implant and international segments, contributing to an overall sales total of $527.5 million for the first half of 2011.
The last quarter has also seen the firm appoint Michael Mogul as its new chief executive officer, with former business head Les Cross moving into the position of non-executive chairman.
