Quintiles staff member wins women in business award

Quintiles has announced that its president of clinical development Paula Brown Stafford has won a women in business award from the Triangle Business Journal.

The employee, who has been with the biopharmaceutical services company since 1985, was recognised by the publication as an outstanding business leader with an exceptional track record of significant accomplishments.

Since being hired as a biostatistician in the firm's early days, Ms Stafford has come to assume responsibility for a business unit that employs around 15,000 workers globally, making up the majority of Quintiles' workforce.

She is also the chair-elect of the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium, and a member of the foundation board of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine CTSA external advisory board.

John Ratliff, Quintiles' president and chief operating officer, said: "Her current leadership role is a reflection of her dedication to making a positive difference in healthcare around the world."
