Bristol-Myers Squibb to present new data on Nujolix

Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced plans to present new clinical data on its kidney transplant drug Nujolix at the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) Congress.

The company will be presenting a total of 15 abstracts on the therapy at the event this month, including data which supported its recent regulatory approval in the US and Europe.

Nujolix is specified for the prophylaxis of organ rejection in adult EBV seropositive patients receiving a kidney transplant, with phase III data to be showcased at ESOT showing its efficacy over a three-year period.

Further findings will evaluate the drug in comparison to cyclosporine, with the presentations intended to inform clinical decisions about the drug's application.

Dr Brian Daniels, senior vice-president for global development and medical affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said the company "is committed to work with the transplant community to broaden our understanding of the efficacy and safety profile for Nujolix".

This comes after the firm presented data at the European Society of Cardiology Congress to highlight the efficacy of Eliquis, its treatment for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation patients.
