Idexx Laboratories adds DVMInsight to Telemedicine Consultants unit

Idexx Laboratories is to incorporate the California-based DVMInsight as part of its Telemedicine Consultants business unit.

The agreement will bring together two leading providers of veterinary telemedicine services, while allowing Idexx to offer an expanded range of radiology services via DVMInsight's Sight Hound Radiology offering.

Following this acquisition, Idexx will support and develop DVMInsight's intuitive and customisable telemedicine system, while integrating it with its own Cornerstone Practice Management System and Idexx-PACS imaging software.

This arrangement will also see DVMInsight business leaders Matt Wright and Stephen Walters becoming part of the Idexx Telemedicine Consultants management team.

Earlier this month, Idexx announced the launch of the Snap BVD Test, an easy new means of detecting cases of bovine viral diarrhoea virus.
