Bauerfeind to launch GenuTrain S Pro
Bauerfeind has announced plans to release a new knee support aid called GenuTrain S Pro next month.
The medical technology manufacturer's latest innovation is designed to offer support for the ligaments in the knee joint, ensuring greater stability, while also offering improved flexibility.
This is accomplished through the use of restrictable hinges on the product's lateral joint splints, with flexion angles of 30, 60 or 90 degrees possible, while the extension angle can be locked at zero or 20 degrees.
According to Bauerfeind, these angle restrictions work in accordance with the two-point principle without compromising muscle activity, while small openings on the splints' guide channels make it easy for angles to be set.
The company will be making the GenuTrain S Pro available to medical retailers from October 2011 onwards.
In July this year, Bauerfeind introduced a redesigned version of its ValguLoc night-time positioning splint for the hallux valgus, utilising a new, more comfortable material.
