Edelman appoints new head of digital health

Edelman has announced the appointment of Dave Pinnington as its new head of digital health for Europe.

Mr Pinnington has previously worked as commercial director of the UK's largest online community of doctors and has experience in creating digital healthcare programmes focused on patients, disease management and protocol development.

He has also worked with many of the world's top pharmaceutical companies, medical societies and healthcare organisations, helping to create campaigns and strategies for products of all stages of maturity, covering a range of therapeutic fields.

Marcus Dyer, managing director of the digital team, said this will help Edelman to further augment its expertise in digital health, which it has been developing in recent months via its work with firms such as AstraZeneca, Novartis and Shire.

"Strengthening our established offering to clients is critical to us but understanding our clients' needs in this complex highly regulated environment is paramount to us," he added.

This comes after the company appointed Claudia Patton as its new chief talent officer earlier this month.
