Bausch and Lomb names global vision care president

26th September 2011

Bausch and Lomb has announced that Sheila Hopkins is to become its new global vision care president as part of a corporate leadership reshuffle.

Ms Hopkins, a former veteran of Colgate-Palmolive and Procter and Gamble, will report directly to chief executive officer Brent Saunders and will be responsible for the company's contact lens and lens care products.

She has experience in leading the development and commercialisation of prominent consumer health brands such as Colgate toothpaste and the Oil of Olay and Clearasil skincare ranges.

Her appointment coincides with the selection of Steven Robins as vice-president and chief marketing officer for global vision care and Peter Valenti as president of its North American division.

Mr Saunders said: "We're in the midst of an exciting transformation at Bausch and Lomb."

This comes after the company announced earlier this month that it will be acquiring the ophthalmology laser technology manufacturer Technolas Perfect Vision in a deal worth up to 450 million euros (390 million pounds).ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800739925-ADNFCR
