Quintiles appoints worldwide finance controller

Quintiles has announced that Charles Williams has been appointed as the new worldwide controller of its finance organisation.

Mr Williams joins the company from medical technology manufacturer Teleflex, where he served as corporate controller and chief accounting officer for a financial division employing 75 people.

Prior to this, he worked for a combined 20 years at Carrier Corporation and the Uniroyal Chemical Company, occupying a number of positions of rising seniority while gaining a diverse range of experiences.

At Quintiles, he will report to chief financial officer Kevin Gordon and will utilise his proven skills in financial analysis, reporting regulations, acquisition evaluation and integration.

Mr Gordon added: "I worked with him personally at Teleflex and I am confident he will bring the same enthusiasm, integrity and wise counsel to Quintiles for which he has become known."

This comes after the firm appointed Dr Oren Cohen as senior vice-president and global head of its phase I clinical research division last month.
