SCA highlights growth and reorganisation strategies
SCA has outlined its commitment to continued efficiency enhancements and growth initiatives during its Capital Markets Day in Stockholm.
The company, which is the third-largest hygiene business in the world, has been focusing on costs, cash flow, capital efficiency and innovation in recent years, with increased growth becoming part of its corporate agenda in 2010.
During recent months, key efficiency-enhancement measures have been implemented and the pace of product launches has been accelerated, while acquisitions and investments have been made in markets such as Brazil, Russia and Mexico.
For example, SCA announced last month that it has made an investment into incontinence care products in Turkey, which it has identified as a growth market.
Moving forward, the firm aims to increase its focus on global rather than local brands, with a group-wide target of a 13 percent return on capital over an economic cycle remaining in place.
SCA president and chief executive officer Jan Johansson said: "The aim is to continue to grow by capitalising on the growth opportunities created by the global population increase, improved prosperity, an aging population and greater market penetration."
