Biotronik Selectra CS Lead Introducer System wins acclaim

28th September 2011

Biotronik has highlighted the positive reception afforded to its new Selectra CS Lead Introducer System since its recent introduction in the US and Europe.

The device, an innovative lead placement system for cardiac resynchronisation therapy units, has been described as a "significant advancement" by the first physicians to use it.

Having conducted multiple patient procedures using Selectra, clinicians have praised the product for its secure lead placement and ease of use compared to alternatives, particularly in cases that pose anatomical challenges.

Among the other benefits of the Selectra device are its streamlined hub, its hydrophilic inner coating and its low-friction valve.

Dr Ishu Rao, clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with Cardiology Associates Medical Group in California, said: "Selectra demonstrates that Biotronik is responsive to the needs of electrophysiologists – they understood the problems we face in these delicate and demanding procedures and developed a tool set that makes a difference."

Last week, the company announced that it has completed enrolment for a new clinical trial of its Passeo-18 Lux drug-eluting balloon catheter for peripheral artery disease.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800742554-ADNFCR
