Siemens launches RAPIDComm 4.0 for clinical data management

28th September 2011

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has announced the introduction of its RAPIDComm data management solution version 4.0, a new offering for use in clinical data analysis.

The newest version of the company's integrated data system extends its connectivity options to include the DCA Vantage diabetes analyser, allowing users to analyse data via an advanced interface.

It means that POC laboratory managers can remotely monitor and manage diabetes testing results alongside blood gas results via RAPIDSystems and urinalysis via the Clinitek Status Connect System, using a unified front end.

Other features of the system include its various safeguards and quality control tools, as well as the fact it can be accessed from any computer connected to the hospital network.

Dr David Stein, chief executive officer for the POC business unit at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, said: "A key priority for Siemens is to continue the innovation of our instruments and data management solutions to provide our POC customers with innovative and flexible connectivity options."

This comes after the firm also introduced its new Innovance VWF Ac Assay for diagnosing bleeding disorders this week.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800742833-ADNFCR
