PerkinElmer launches Volocity 6.0 cellular imaging software

PerkinElmer has announced the introduction of the latest edition of its high-performance 3D cellular imaging software Volocity.

Version 6.0 of the imaging and analysis software platform features enhanced measurement capabilities to provide life scientists with better understanding of intercellular and intracellular relationships.

It is designed for the analysis of 3D fluorescence images from confocal microscopy, wide-field and high content screening systems, allowing different measurements to be organised according to biological classification.

Among the enhanced features of Volocity 6.0 are its streamlined interface, faster operation, simpler workflows and improved range of measurement tools.

Achim von Leoprechting, vice-president for imaging and detection solutions at PerkinElmer's biodiscovery unit, said: "The new Volocity 6.0 software will help scientists better understand how diseases affect cells as well as how potential therapies affect diseased and healthy cells."

This comes after the company introduced its new Universal Operational Qualification compliance service for life science laboratories last week.
