Welch Allyn completes Trimline Medical Products takeover

Welch Allyn has completed its takeover of Trimline Medical Products as part of efforts to expand the scope of its business.

The takeover allows the medical firm to take control of a business that offers a full range of blood pressure cuffs, aneroid gauges and stethoscopes, an area in which Welch Allyn wishes to augment its product offering.

Following the completion of this acquisition, Welch Allyn is integrating all of Trinline's blood pressure cuff manufacturing operations with its own facilities in the US and Mexico, thus strengthening its global supply chain.

Sean Karla, global category manager for blood pressure products at Welch Allyn, said: "Thanks to the success of this acquisition, we can now offer our customers every type, size and technology of reusable and disposable cuffs."

This comes after the medical technology firm announced a new alliance with Wavelength Information Services to offer a new service that will assist clients in the selection and preparation of electronic health record systems.
