Novo Nordisk sponsors educational haemophilia comic for UK patients
Novo Nordisk has supported the creation of a new educational comic designed to inform UK paediatric patients about haemophilia.
The company has allied with medical education publisher MediKidz to create the superhero-themed comic, which will be distributed by clinicians in order to raise awareness of the blood disorder.
It will feature characters from multiple demographics and is aimed at engaging children aged between eight and 15, teaching them about the condition and associated treatment options in a dynamic way, reports InPharm.
Novo Nordisk's biopharmaceuticals director Esben Bruun Mortensen said the comics represent a "useful medical educational tool" that will be of great value to clinical practices.
"The biggest advantage is to patients as education improves compliance with treatment," he added.
Last month, the company published encouraging new clinical data on a pair of therapies, insulin degludec and Victoza, both of which are specified as diabetes treatments.
