Norbrook Laboratories wins prizes at UTV Business Eye Awards

Norbrook Laboratories has claimed a pair of accolades at the UTV Business Eye Awards in Northern Ireland.

The animal health company was presented with the international trade award, based on its worldwide success during a year that saw it experience a 13 percent rise in export sales.

Moreover, Norbrook chairman and chief executive officer Lord Ballyedmond was honoured with the event's inaugural lifetime achievement award, recognising his contributions to the Northern Irish economy.

The firm's success in recent years have seen it become the world's largest privately owned pharmaceutical company, recruiting more than 250 new staff members since the start of 2011 alone.

Lord Ballyedmond said: "It is a great privilege to accept two awards on behalf of Norbrook and to be honoured among my Northern Ireland business peers, for whom I have the utmost respect."

This comes after the firm announced the launch of its new Veterinary Excellence Tool application for iPhone earlier this month.
