Biotronik launches new stents for treating SFA and BTK disease

Biotronik has announced the launch of new medical stents for use in the treatment of superficial femoral artery (SFA) and below-the-knee (BTK) diseases.

An extension of its successful 4F self-expanding stent system, the new Pulsar-18 devices are available in diameters of 4mm to 7mm and lengths of between 20 and 200mm.

Benefits offered by the stents include their improved radial force, flexibility and fracture-resistance compared to the previous Astron Pulsar offering, with clinical studies having proven the efficacy of this fifth-generation design.

The launch of Pulsar-18 means Biotronik is now the first company to offer a complete 4F solutions peripheral intervention products package to treat lower limb disease.

Alain Aimonetti, vice-president of sales and marketing at Biotronik, said: "Pulsar-18 is the single most important addition to our already developed portfolio for lower limb intervention."

This comes after the company launched a new Quick View report tool for its Home Monitoring system earlier this month.
