Norgine and Jubilant to collaborate on gastrointestinal research
Norgine and Jubilant Biosys are to enter into a collaboration on the development of new therapy options for gastrointestinal conditions.
The firm is allying with the Jubilant Life Sciences subsidiary over a period of three years, during which multiple drug targets will be developed using Jubilant Biosys' integrated drug discovery platform.
Norgine will be supplied with preclinical candidates targeting various gastrointestinal diseases and will also take full ownership of any development and commercialisation rights to therapies.
This will allow India's Jubilant to extend its expertise to developed markets via an alliance with a well-established European specialty pharmaceutical company.
Ian Cox, vice-president of pharmaceutical and preclinical development at Norgine, added: "We are delighted to be collaborating with Jubilant, a company with a track record in these types of discovery programmes, and we genuinely look forward to a productive and fruitful relationship."
This comes after the firm allied with Alimentary Health on a separate gastrointestinal disease-focused collaboration last month.
