Nalco’s Stewart McCutcheon named CIO of the year

31st October 2011

Nalco has revealed that Stewart McCutcheon has been named chief information officer (CIO) of the year by a US industry group.

The Nalco CIO received the award from The Executives' Club of Chicago and the Association of Information Technology Professionals, beating off competition from 26 other top IT executives in the Chicago area.

A panel of 11 experts assessed the attributes of each contender in 16 weighted categories to determine the winner.

However, the winning CIO insisted that the team around him should share the credit for his achievement.

"The successes we have achieved using IT to support the key business drivers of Nalco and our customers are the result of a great team effort," Mr McCutcheon commented.

He added that Nalco's technical employees had "embraced the challenge of becoming the next-generation IT team".

The company was recently ranked at number 158 in the InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the most innovative users of business technology in the US. ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800782208-ADNFCR
