Grifols plans to remunerate shareholders

31st October 2011

Grifols has proposed a share capital increase for a nominal amount of 2.96 million euros (2.58 million pounds).

The Spanish company said an extraordinary general shareholders' meeting will take place on Friday December 2nd to discuss the increase, which is subject to the approval of investors.

It will consist of the issue and allotment of 29,687,658 non-voting shares (Class B) with a nominal value of 0.10 euros each without share premium.

Shareholders will be able to receive one new Class B share for each ten old shares they possess, regardless whether they are Class A or Class B.

In a statement, the firm said it was demonstrating "commitment towards maximising the remuneration to its shareholders that showed their trust towards its management and the company's future".

Grifols added that it remains "committed to finding alternative ways to remunerate its shareholders".

Earlier this year, the company used a $1.1 billion (685.9 million pounds) corporate bond issue to help finance its acquisition of Talecris.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800782235-ADNFCR
