Eppendorf introduces BioSpectrometer

Eppendorf has introduced the new BioSpectrometer tool that combines accuracy and guided operation across a range of routine and complex applications.

Providing precise results in genomics, proteomics, cell biology and biochemistry, the innovative device gives results in spectra as well as individual wavelength measurements.

The BioSpectrometer allows users to operate the system and data processing options directly from the machine itself, therefore alleviating the need to use a PC.

It is also available in a basic and kinetic model to ensure the needs of each individual laboratory are met, while providing storage space for up to 1,000 results.

Dr Tanja Musiol, global product manager of detection at Eppendorf, said: "The innovative software leads the user through the methods in a guided process, minimising the risk of making mistakes."

Earlier this year, Eppendorf awarded assistant professor Suzan Rooijakkers from the University Medical Centre Utrecht's department of medical microbiology 15,000 euros for her studies into how pathogen staphylococcus aureus attacks the immune system.
