Johnson and Johnson completes SterilMed acquisition
Johnson and Johnson has announced that its subsidiary Ethicon Endo-Surgery has completed the acquisition of SterilMed.
Following the completion of the takeover, the US-based firm – which specialises in reprocessing and remanufacturing single-use medical devices – will be working with Ethicon to identify new market opportunities.
It will continue to operate as a standalone company dedicated to expanding demand for single-use medical device reprocessing.
Coinciding with the closure of this deal, it has also been announced that Mike Gustafson will be succeeding Brian Sullivan as company president at SterilMed and will play a key role in its future growth efforts.
Mr Gustafson has been with the Johnson and Johnson group for 23 years.
Karen Licitra, company group chairman and worldwide franchise chairman for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, said: "Today we take another step forward in our strategy to provide hospitals and clinicians with a full portfolio of solutions that address pressing healthcare needs."
