Smith and Nephew sees revenue growth in Q3 2011
Smith and Nephew has reported a strong revenue performance during the third quarter of the 2011 fiscal year.
The medical technology firm's reported revenue total came to $1.03 billion (646.23 billion pounds), up by ten percent year on year, while trading profits came to $205 million with a margin of 19.8 percent.
Particular strength was attributed to the company's endoscopy and advanced wound management business units, which was offset by the difficult trading conditions faced by its orthopaedics division.
Olivier Bohuon, chief executive officer of Smith and Nephew, said further performance improvements are expected to be seen in the final quarter of 2011, thanks to strategic efforts by the organisation.
"With high levels of energy and determination, we are reshaping Smith and Nephew to thrive in the future," he added.
Last month, the company announced the appointment of Stephane Thiroloix as the new president of its European advanced surgical devices division.
