Norbrook launches Loxicom Injection for cattle, pigs and horses
Norbrook Laboratories has announced the launch of a new non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for use among cattle, pigs and horses.
The animal health company's new Loxicom Injection offering was made available last month and is designed to treat symptoms of a range of diseases affecting livestock, including lameness, MMA syndrome and equine colic.
It is a generic version of meloxicam that is bio-equivalent to the pioneer product and has a proven safety and efficacy record, with suspension and injection forms of the treatment already available for cats and dogs.
Rebecca Pullon, Norbrook's product manager, said the version for domestic pets has already proven a major success, making Norbrook the most successful generic manufacturer of meloxicam.
"I am delighted that we can now extend this range to include a Loxicom Injection for cattle, pigs and horses, which I am confident will prove equally as popular," she added.
This comes after the firm was presented with two prizes at the UTV Business Eye Awards, recognising the strength of its recent performance among Northern Irish companies.
