Synergy Health agrees extended contract with Homerton University Hospital

16th November 2011

Synergy Health has announced an extension to Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's contract with the company.

The outsourced services provider has earned a new deal with the NHS organisation following a competitive tender process, allowing Synergy to take responsibility for the future provision of sterile services.

It will encompass the decontamination of surgical instruments and the supplying of more than 10,000 theatre consumables, leveraging the innovative nature of Synergy's operating practices.

The two organisations have been working together for a number of years prior to this, with Synergy processing around one million items for its sterile services department each year.

Adrian Coward, the company's UK and Ireland chief executive officer, said: "This continued collaboration demonstrates the success of long-lasting relationships and confirms that public and private sectors can work together to provide excellent integrated services to patients."

This follows the announcement last month that Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is also extending its sterile services arrangement with Synergy.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801213011-ADNFCR
