Boston Scientific to market CRI Amigo catheter system in Europe
Boston Scientific has signed a new agreement to market the CRI Amigo remote-controlled catheter system from Catheter Robotics in certain European markets.
The device is designed to allow diagnostic and ablation catheters for the treatment of common cardiac arrhythmias during electrophysiology procedures to be remotely manoeuvred by physicians.
It is compatible with a number of Boston Scientific products – including the Blazer and Blazer Open-Irrigated radiofrequency ablation catheters and Chilli II fluid-cooled RF ablation catheter – as well as various other leading products.
By agreeing this new deal, Boston Scientific will be able to strengthen its European offering in the cardiac ablation solutions field.
Michael Onuscheck, executive vice-president and president of Boston Scientific in Europe, said: "The Amigo system complements our leading line of EP catheters, offering electrophysiologists an intuitive solution for remote operation while retaining the full functionality of their preferred ablation catheter platforms."
Last week, the company provided support for World Diabetes Day by organising a number of educational events for employees around the world.
