Celgene officially opens new London headquarters
Celgene has announced the official opening of its new UK headquarters at Stockley Park in London.
The pharmaceutical company has relocated from its former site in Windsor to the new location near Heathrow Airport as it seeks to accommodate its growing UK workforce and regulatory and drug safety teams, reports InPharm.
This comes at a time that the firm is seeing significant growth, thanks to the success of products such as Vidaza and Abraxane, as well as the recent acquisition of Abraxis BioScience.
It also comes after Celgene reported record third quarter operating and financial results last month, with sales increasing by 38 percent year-on-year during the period.
David Willetts, the UK minister for universities and science, was on hand to open the facility and said Celgene's expansion demonstrates the continuing health of the life sciences sector.
Sam Pearce, general manager for Celgene in the UK and Ireland, added: "We hope that our continued focus on scientific excellence combined with our long-term investment in research will make a significant difference to patients' lives."
