Simplyhealth wins investigation company of the year title

Simplyhealth has been named investigation company of the year at the annual conference of the Health Insurance Counter Fraud Group.

The health insurers' organisation, which aims to combat fraud in the industry, has presented Simplyhealth with this accolade based on the success of its audit and investigations team in stamping out false claim.

In the last year, the dental and health plans provider has achieved significant savings by detecting, combating and preventing fraud, while managing to recover large sums from fraudulent customers.

John Honeybun, team leader of the audit and investigations team, said taking action in this way will ultimately help to keep costs down for legitimate clients.

"Everyone at the company should be proud of this achievement as many of the teams investigations have come from issues that staff have found when dealing with customers," he added.

Last month, Simplyhealth was named best health cash plan provider at the 2011 Investment Life and Pensions Moneyfacts awards.
